Bulding EACGS Community Center

Estimated Cost: $5,000,000.00 Project details

Establishing a community center can be a great way to help people preserve their culture and traditions. The Eritrean American Community in the Greater Sacramento (EACGS) area seeks tax-deductible donations to build a community center to ensure our children preserve their heritage. Establishing the EACGS community center can provide an environment where the people of Eritrea origin and their families unite to collaborate, exercise their culture and tradition, and enhance their solidarity and identity while integrating successfully within the United States of America multicultural system.

EACGS Community Center can allow our children to come after school, learn about their heritage, play, exercise, and have fun. Best of all, it gives our children a place to get acquainted with each other and establish quality lifelong relationships. Also, the EACGS center can improve our senior citizens’ social life. The center can serve to achieve EACGS’s short and long-term goals as outlined in the bylaws. On April 24, 2023, EACGS Board registered the community charity at  Causes Benevity Portal seeking about $5 Million to build a 10,000 square foot that offers multipurpose halls and rooms for gathering and Eritrean language and culture classes and recreational space, including two full-size basketball/volleyball courts, outdoor soccer field, and separate areas for other indoor recreational activities, such as gymnastics.
